Join Lumen Studio Collective as a Senior Photographer in New York City. We are a premium, client-first studio delivering high-impact imagery for fashion, lifestyle, and commercial campaigns. You will lead creative direction on major shoots, supervise lighting and camera setup, and ensure flawless production from concept to delivery.
As a senior contributor, you will collaborate with art directors, stylists, retouchers, and producers to craft visual narratives that align with brand identity. This role balances leadership with hands-on photography, studio management, and on-location shoots.
What you'll do includes leading photography sessions, curating shot lists, maintaining equipment, managing on-set safety and workflow, and mentoring junior team members to raise production quality.
Responsibility
- Lead and execute high-end fashion, lifestyle, and commercial shoots from concept to delivery.
- Collaborate with art directors, stylists, and clients to develop creative concepts and shot lists.
- Plan lighting setups, lens choices, and camera settings to achieve brand-accurate results.
- Direct on-set personnel, manage timelines, and ensure on-time delivery of retouched images.
- Oversee equipment maintenance, inventory, and studio safety protocols.
- Review and approve on-set dailies, and coordinate with post-production to ensure color accuracy and consistency.
- Mentor junior photographers and interns, providing constructive feedback and training.
- Maintain high professional standards of client service and artistic integrity.
Qualification
- 5+ years of professional photography experience with a strong portfolio across fashion, lifestyle, or commercial projects.
- Proficient in studio lighting, on-location shoots, and advanced retouching workflows.
- Expertise with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom; familiarity with Capture One is a plus.
- Strong eye for composition, color, and narrative storytelling.
- Excellent on-set communication, client management, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shoots and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Portfolio demonstrating leadership on projects and brand-aligned visuals.
- Available to work flexible hours, including some weekends and travel as required.
