Capitol Nexus Policy Institute is seeking a results-driven Senior Policy Analyst to advance evidence-based policy solutions across domestic and international issues. This full-time role is based in Washington, DC, with opportunities for flexible work arrangements.
In this role you will conduct rigorous research, synthesize findings into policy briefs, and influence decision-makers through clear, data-driven messaging. You will work with cross-functional teams, collaborate with policymakers, and contribute to strategic advocacy efforts that drive meaningful public outcomes.
Responsibility
- Conduct rigorous policy research across assigned portfolios, including literature reviews, data analysis, and program evaluation.
- Synthesize complex findings into clear policy briefs for policymakers and stakeholders.
- Monitor legislative developments, regulatory proposals, and political dynamics affecting public policy priorities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including communications, research, and advocacy to shape policy messaging.
- Engage with external partners, think tanks, government agencies, and NGOs to build consensus and partnerships.
- Develop data visualizations, dashboards, and executive summaries to inform decision-making.
- Manage research projects, timelines, and deliverables; ensure quality and compliance with research standards.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in policy analysis, government affairs, or legislative research.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative research; experience with statistical tools (R, Python, Stata) is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; strong briefing and presentation skills.
- Proven track record of producing policy briefs and memoranda for diverse audiences.
- Strong project management, organization, and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience engaging with policymakers, stakeholders, and media; knowledge of DC policy landscape is a plus.
