Responsibility
- Lead complex architectural design development from concept through construction documentation for hospitality and urban design projects.
- Set design direction, manage multi-discipline teams, and maintain design quality with BIM standards.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and authorities to secure approvals and ensure compliance with codes.
- Develop reports, presentations, and design reviews to communicate ideas clearly to stakeholders.
- Oversee scheduling, budgeting, and risk management to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Mentor junior architects and coordinate knowledge transfer across the studio.
- Champion sustainability and passivhaus/LEED-oriented solutions where appropriate.
- Ensure documentation accuracy and quality control across all project phases.
Qualification
- Registered architect with 8+ years of experience in hospitality, urban design, or mixed-use projects.
- Proficiency in BIM (Revit) and 3D modeling (Rhino/Grasshopper) with strong CAD documentation skills.
- Strong design portfolio demonstrating concept development, material studies, and detailing.
- Excellent knowledge of building codes, zoning, and permitting processes in the New York City area.
- Proven project management experience with the ability to lead teams and coordinate with consultants.
- Strong communication and client-facing presentation skills; ability to translate design ideas into compelling visuals.
- Commitment to sustainability, fabric-first design, and high-performance building envelope strategies.
