Bayes, a well-established construction leader, is expanding its team and seeking a Senior / Project Engineer (Construction, A1 Main-Con) to join our West Coast operations. In this hands-on leadership role, you will manage complex large-scale construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout, ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and budget control.
As a key point of contact for clients, design partners, subcontractors, and internal teams, you will coordinate multidisciplinary activities, align design intent with field execution, and drive successful delivery on time and within budget. You will lead planning, procurement coordination, field supervision, and risk mitigation for A1 Main-Con contracts, with a focus on constructability reviews, value engineering, and continuous improvement.

Responsibility
- Lead and supervise construction activities under the A1 Main-Con contract, ensuring alignment with design intent and project specifications.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, cost controls, and procurement strategies; monitor progress and report variances.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including designers, subcontractors, and suppliers; facilitate issue resolution, change management, and timely decision making.
- Ensure QA/QC procedures are implemented on site; conduct inspections, material testing, and maintain quality records.
- Lead health and safety initiatives; implement site safety plans, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of zero incidents.
- Review drawings and specifications for constructability; provide value engineering input to optimize performance and reduce risk.
- Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards, and client communications; manage documentation for project closeout and handover.
- Lead commissioning and handover activities, ensuring all as-built documentation, warranties, and operation manuals are completed and organized.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of construction project engineering experience, with exposure to A1 Main-Con or equivalent large-scale contracts
- Strong knowledge of safety standards, QA/QC processes, and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera P6) and CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities; able to manage multiple stakeholders
- Experience with cost control, procurement, subcontractor oversight, and contract change management
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Professional certification such as PMP, PE, or equivalent is preferred
