HarborView Public Health Institute is seeking a Senior Public Health Analyst to join our dynamic team in Boston. This role focuses on advancing population health through rigorous data analysis, strategic program design, and evidence-based policy recommendations that improve health outcomes for diverse communities.
In this position you will collaborate with public health practitioners, researchers, and stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights, support grant reporting, and contribute to state and local health improvement plans.
Responsibility
- Lead and manage complex public health data analyses to inform policy decisions and program design.
- Design, implement, and evaluate population health initiatives with measurable outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to translate data findings into actionable recommendations.
- Prepare data visualizations and clear briefs for stakeholders and funders.
- Support grant reporting, performance metrics, and compliance with public health regulations.
- Contribute to the development of evidence based policies and health improvement plans.
- Engage with community partners to ensure programs address local health needs and equity.
- Mentor junior staff and build capacity in data analysis and public health methods.
Qualification
- Master degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related field; PhD preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in public health analytics, program evaluation, or health policy.
- Strong proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, or SAS) and SQL for data management.
- Experience with health inequity analyses and community partnered research.
- Demonstrated ability to translate analytic findings into actionable policy and program recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, grant reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work in a fast paced environment.
- Knowledge of public health surveillance systems, U.S. health policy landscape, and ethics considerations.
