Responsibility
- Oversee the preparation, submission, and negotiation of tenders and contracts for construction projects.
- Manage and monitor project costs, valuations, and variations to ensure compliance with budgets and contractual obligations.
- Lead and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and project managers, to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Review, assess, and administer contracts, progress claims, and payment certifications.
- Provide value engineering and risk management solutions to optimize cost and quality outcomes.
- Mentor junior surveyors and assist in their professional development.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts on project progress and financial performance.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and industry standards.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant quantity surveying experience in large-scale construction projects, preferably in Malaysia or ASEAN region.
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC, PAM, JKR or similar) and procurement procedures.
- Excellent cost management, estimation, and financial acumen.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Quantity Surveying and project management software (e.g., CostX, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD).
- High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional membership (e.g., RICS, AIQS) is an advantage.
