Responsibility

  • Oversee the preparation, submission, and negotiation of tenders and contracts for construction projects.
  • Manage and monitor project costs, valuations, and variations to ensure compliance with budgets and contractual obligations.
  • Lead and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and project managers, to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Review, assess, and administer contracts, progress claims, and payment certifications.
  • Provide value engineering and risk management solutions to optimize cost and quality outcomes.
  • Mentor junior surveyors and assist in their professional development.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts on project progress and financial performance.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and industry standards.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant quantity surveying experience in large-scale construction projects, preferably in Malaysia or ASEAN region.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC, PAM, JKR or similar) and procurement procedures.
  • Excellent cost management, estimation, and financial acumen.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Quantity Surveying and project management software (e.g., CostX, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD).
  • High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Professional membership (e.g., RICS, AIQS) is an advantage.
