Visible Construction & Trading Sdn Bhd is actively seeking a results-driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing construction team in Kuala Lumpur. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will lead cost planning, estimation, and commercial management for complex schemes. You will prepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQ), conduct cost-to-complete forecasts, evaluate variations and claims, and administer contracts with accuracy and transparency. Responsibility
- Lead the cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for multiple projects from inception to handover.
- Prepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQ), estimate costs, and monitor cost variation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Administer contracts, administer procurement strategies, evaluate subcontractor bids, and manage change orders and claims.
- Monitor project cash flow, prepare valuation certificates, payment certificates, and final accounts with accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities and ensure best value while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents for cost containment and risk assessment; liaise with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Provide timely reporting to senior management on cost performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Mentor junior QS team members and contribute to process improvements in commercial management.
Qualification
- Bachelorβs degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction, with exposure to residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
- Strong commercial acumen with deep knowledge of cost planning, estimation, BOQ, contract administration, and variation management.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, WinQS) and MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of Malaysian contracts, standards, and regulatory requirements; professional qualifications (e.g., MRICS, MICE) are advantageous.
