Job description
NordicWinds Energy is seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Engineer to lead innovative wind and solar projects in the Copenhagen region. You will drive design, analysis, and delivery from concept to commissioning, collaborating with cross-functional teams, utilities, and stakeholders to accelerate the green transition.
This role combines hands-on engineering with strategic project leadership, offering a clear path to impact and growth in a fast-paced, sustainability-focused environment.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end engineering design and optimization for wind, solar, and storage projects from feasibility to handover.
- Coordinate cross-disciplinary teams (civil, electrical, control systems) and external partners to meet schedule and budget.
- Develop and review technical specs, HSE standards, and grid interconnection studies.
- Manage project budgets, risk assessments, and procurement activities with a focus on value and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with Danish/European standards and permit requirements.
- Drive performance analysis using data analytics, SCADA data, and performance tests to optimize energy production.
- Communicate progress with stakeholders and prepare executive summaries for leadership reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualification
- Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or related field; PhD a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in renewable energy project engineering, with emphasis on wind and/or solar.
- Proven track record in project management, permitting, and grid interconnection processes.
- Strong knowledge of software tools (PVSyst, OpenWind, AutoCAD, MATLAB/Python) and energy systems modeling.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
- Professional certifications in project management (PMP/PRINCE2) or renewable energy (NREL, SEER) preferred.
- Fluency in English; Danish language skills a strong plus; willingness to travel regionally.
