Join Veridian Renewables, a leader in utility scale solar, wind and storage projects across North America. We are seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Engineer to design, optimize, and deliver high‑efficiency systems. Work with cross‑functional teams, drive technical excellence, and contribute to the carbon‑free energy transition.
As a key member of our engineering group, you will model systems, evaluate performance, prepare technical documentation, and collaborate with developers, contractors and clients to ensure successful project delivery across the project lifecycle.
Responsibility
- Lead modeling and optimization of solar PV, wind, and energy storage systems using tools such as PVsyst, HelioScope, SAM and RETScreen.
- Perform feasibility studies, LCOE analysis, reliability assessments, and risk analyses to support project finance decisions.
- Develop technical specifications, RFP responses, and assist in procurement and vendor selection.
- Oversee system integration and interconnection studies, ensuring grid code compliance and safety.
- Coordinate field verification, commissioning and performance testing through the project lifecycle.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams including project management, EPCs, and operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and codes such as IEEE 1547, NEC and IEC directives.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering; master's preferred.
- 5+ years of renewable energy design or field experience with solar, wind or storage projects.
- Strong proficiency in energy modeling and design tools such as PVsyst, HelioScope, SAM, RETScreen, and CAD/BIM.
- Knowledge of grid interconnection processes and standards including IEEE 1547 and NEC; experience with interconnection studies.
- Excellent analytical, communication and project management skills; proven ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 12 months is preferred.
- Experience with energy storage systems and microgrids is a plus.
