GreenWave Energy Solutions is a leading developer of solar, wind, and storage projects across North America. We are seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Engineer to lead technical design, optimization, and delivery of utility-scale and commercial projects. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with hands-on field experience and excellent collaboration with cross-functional teams.
In this role, you will drive project feasibility, perform energy yield analyses, select equipment, and support construction and commissioning. You will mentor junior engineers, maintain rigorous safety and quality standards, and help expand our portfolio in emerging energy storage initiatives.
Responsibility
- Lead technical design and optimization of solar, wind, and storage projects from concept to commissioning
- Perform energy yield assessments, system modeling, and financial viability analyses
- Select equipment and components to meet performance, reliability, and safety targets
- Coordinate with EPC partners, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery
- Develop project technical specifications, RFB/RFP responses, and engineering records
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers and interns
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations on all sites
- Support permitting, grid interconnection studies, and commissioning tests
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy engineering; master's preferred
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project engineering or a similar role
- Strong proficiency in PV solar design, wind energy assessments, and energy storage systems
- Experience with software tools such as PVsyst, Homer Pro, AutoCAD, MATLAB
- Knowledge of grid interconnection processes and standards (IEEE, NEC, NERC)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Willingness to travel 20-30% of the time
