GreenNova Energy Solutions is seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Engineer to lead the design and delivery of large-scale solar and wind projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role combines technical leadership, hands-on engineering, and cross-functional collaboration to accelerate clean energy deployment.
As a Senior Renewable Energy Engineer, you will drive performance, reliability, and cost optimization throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies to interconnection and commissioning.

Responsibility
- Lead technical design and optimization of utility-scale solar and wind systems, including layout, electrical design, and interconnection strategies.
- Conduct feasibility studies, energy yield modeling, LCOE analysis, and financial evaluation to support project development and investment decisions.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials; ensure quality and constructability.
- Coordinate with permitting authorities, utility interconnections, EPC contractors, and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with codes and standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and support professional development within the team.
- Develop and implement engineering processes, risk assessments, and safety practices aligned with EHS requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, finance, and business development to optimize project scope, scheduling, and cost control.
- Support bids and client engagements with technical expertise and presentations.
Qualification
- Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, or Renewable Energy Engineering; Master's preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in solar/wind project engineering, utility-scale is preferred.
- Proficiency with PV design and energy modeling tools (PVsyst, Helioscope, SAM).
- Strong electrical design knowledge, grid interconnection, protection, and safety standards (NEC, IEC).
- Experience with CAD/BIM (AutoCAD, Revit) and GIS for site layout and routing.
- Data analysis and programming skills (Excel, Python, MATLAB) and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Project management experience; PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team in San Francisco.
