GreenNova Energy is a fast-growing leader in solar, wind, and energy storage solutions. We design, build, and operate renewable energy projects that power communities and industries with clean power. Weβre seeking a results-driven Senior Renewable Energy Project Engineer to join our Austin-based team and lead complex projects from feasibility through construction and commissioning.
In this role, you will collaborate with developers, governmental agencies, engineering consultants, and construction partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while optimizing performance and reducing life-cycle costs.
Responsibility
- Lead and manage end-to-end engineering for utility-scale solar, wind, and storage projects from concept through construction and commissioning.
- Develop and review technical specifications, electrical designs, single-line diagrams, equipment lists, protection schemes, and interconnection requirements.
- Collaborate with development teams, EPC contractors, utilities, and regulators to secure permits, interconnection agreements, and environmental clearances.
- Conduct energy yield modeling, performance analysis, and optimization to maximize project ROI and lifecycle performance.
- Manage scope, schedule, and budgets; monitor risk, change orders, and procurement activities.
- Oversee quality assurance and safety compliance across design, fabrication, and construction phases.
- Support commissioning, startup, and operations readiness; develop O&M manuals and training materials.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to cross-functional capability building.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering; PE license preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in renewable energy project engineering or EPC delivery for solar, wind, or storage projects.
- Strong proficiency in electrical design tools (AutoCAD, Revit) and simulation tools (PVSyst, Helioscope, SKM/ETAP) and modeling (Excel, Python).
- Solid understanding of interconnection processes, grid standards (IEEE 1547, NERC CIP), and permitting requirements.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills; demonstrated project leadership across diverse teams.
- Proven track record delivering multi-year projects on schedule and within budget; risk management experience.
- Ability to travel 10-20% and work across cross-functional teams.
