Join GreenPeak Energy Solutions, a leading developer of solar, wind, and energy storage projects across North America. We’re seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Project Engineer to drive the engineering design and execution of complex renewable energy facilities from inception through commissioning.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, EPC partners, and regulatory bodies to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions that accelerate the transition to clean power.
In this role, you’ll influence project outcomes through technical leadership, rigorous planning, and hands-on problem solving, making a meaningful impact on communities and the environment.
Responsibility
- Lead detailed engineering design for solar, wind, and energy storage projects from concept through permit-ready packages.
- Oversee electrical, mechanical, and civil interfaces; ensure designs meet budget, schedule, and performance targets.
- Coordinate interconnection studies and grid integration with utilities and independent system operators.
- Manage technical risk assessments, value engineering, and change management processes.
- Collaborate with EPC contractors, vendors, and construction teams to ensure quality and safety during execution.
- Prepare technical specifications, calculations, drawings, and reports for permitting and construction.
- Support commissioning, performance testing, and operations handover with detailed handover documentation.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to business development through technical proposals.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in renewable energy project engineering (solar, wind, or energy storage).
- Strong proficiency with design tools (AutoCAD/REVIT, Helioscope, PVSyst, ETAP) and project management software.
- Solid understanding of codes and standards (NEC/IEC, NFPA, ASCE) and permitting processes.
- Experience with interconnection studies, grid code compliance, and EPC coordination.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technically and mentor teammates; PMP or professional accreditation is a plus.
