Job description

Solstice Power Systems is a leading developer of solar, wind, and energy storage projects across the United States. We are seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Project Engineer to lead the technical execution of utility scale solar and wind initiatives from design through commissioning. This role blends engineering rigor with cross functional leadership to deliver projects on time, on budget, and with the highest safety and performance standards.

In this role you will collaborate with developers, EPCs, and utilities to optimize site layouts, perform energy yield analyses, oversee permitting and interconnection processes, and manage project risk. You will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering standards and tools.

Responsibility

  • Lead the technical design and performance modeling of utility scale solar and wind projects from early stage to commissioning.
  • Coordinate with developers, EPC contractors, and utilities to ensure project milestones meet schedule and budget targets.
  • Perform energy yield assessments, interconnection studies, and grid code compliance analysis.
  • Develop and review engineering deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, BOMs, and equipment specifications.
  • Lead permitting and environmental impact assessment efforts in collaboration with regulatory teams.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support recruitment and training initiatives.
  • Implement quality assurance processes and improve engineering standards and tools.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in renewable energy project engineering, with solar or wind exposure.
  • Proficiency in PV or wind energy modeling tools (PVSyst, Homer, RETScreen) and CAD/3D design software.
  • Strong understanding of interconnection processes, permitting, and grid codes (UL1741, IEEE standards).
  • Experience with project management, budgeting, and cross functional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to present complex technical concepts to non technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30 travel days per year.
  • Professional Engineer license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.
