Based in Berlin, we are seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Project Engineer to drive the development and delivery of wind, solar, and storage projects that power communities with clean energy. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn ambitious plans into reliable, profitable assets while championing safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.
In this pivotal role, you will harness your technical and leadership skills to steer complex projects from feasibility through commissioning, ensuring they meet timelines, budgets, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibility
- Lead end‑to‑end renewable energy project development from feasibility to commissioning for wind, solar PV, and storage solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and operations teams to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and KPIs; provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
- Navigate permitting, interconnection, and regulatory approvals with local authorities and grid operators.
- Coordinate with EPCs, vendors, and external partners; negotiate contracts and change orders to optimize value.
- Conduct technical due diligence, site assessments, and design reviews; drive value engineering and optimization.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards across all project phases and implement continuous improvement.
- Maintain strong client and investor communications, presenting progress, risks, and milestones clearly.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in renewable energy project development, engineering, or EPC environments.
- Deep knowledge of wind, solar PV, storage technologies, and grid interconnection processes.
- Proven track record managing multi‑million euro projects; budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
- Experience with permitting, grid connection, and regulatory compliance in Germany/EU.
- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera) and data analysis; GIS/BIM basics a plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management; fluent English; German preferred.
- PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
