As a Senior Renewable Energy Project Engineer, you will lead technically complex projects from concept through commissioning, mentor teammates, and collaborate with cross-functional groups to deliver on time and within budget.
What you will do includes leading design work, coordinating interconnection studies, conducting techno-economic analyses, and ensuring compliance with safety and code requirements.
Responsibility
- Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of solar, wind, and energy storage projects from concept to commissioning.
- Coordinate with utilities, EPCs, and regulatory bodies to secure interconnection and permits.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets, and manage performance against milestones.
- Conduct techno-economic assessments and LCOE modeling to support investment decisions.
- Mentor junior engineers, review technical work, and promote best practices in design and safety.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, safety standards, and QA/QC protocols.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Renewable Energy Engineering.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in grid-scale renewable energy projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Proficiency with PVSyst, Helioscope, RETScreen, and related design tools.
- Experience with interconnection processes, permits, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel and adapt to project needs.
