Job description
BrightGrid Renewable is seeking a results-driven Senior Renewable Energy Project Manager to lead end-to-end solar and wind projects from development through to commissioning. You will collaborate with engineering, permitting, procurement, and operations teams to deliver on-time, on-budget energy assets that accelerate the transition to clean energy.
In this role, you will own project schedules, risk management, stakeholder communications, and regulatory compliance while maintaining a strong safety culture and ensuring quality deliverables across multiple sites.
Based in Austin, you will partner with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to optimize performance, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to BrightGrid's mission of expanding access to affordable, reliable renewable energy.
Responsibility
- Lead and manage utility-scale solar and wind projects from development through commissioning, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, risk registers, and resource plans; monitor progress with executive dashboards.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, permitting, construction, and operations) to achieve milestones.
- Oversee budget forecasting, cost control, and risk mitigation; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Navigate permitting, interconnection, environmental compliance, and regulatory approvals with utilities and authorities.
- Drive health and safety programs, QA/QC processes, and compliance with EHS standards.
- Communicate project status, risks, and decisions to sponsors, lenders, and stakeholders with transparency and cadence.
- Lead project closeout, commissioning, handover to operations, and capture of lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or related field; master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience managing renewable energy projects (solar and/or wind) with a track record of on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Project management certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred; strong knowledge of EPC contracts a must.
- Solid understanding of permitting, interconnection queues, environmental compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven leadership, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills; exceptional communication abilities.
- Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent) and data analysis; familiarity with PV design tools (PVSyst, PVsol) a plus.
- Willingness to travel 20-30% and adapt to a fast-paced, growth-driven environment in Austin.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement; OSHA or related EHS certifications a plus.
