NovaSol Energy is a leading developer and operator of renewable energy projects across North America. We are seeking a Senior Renewable Project Engineer to lead the design, engineering, and delivery of solar, wind, and energy storage projects from concept through commissioning. This is a hands-on, high-impact role within a fast-growing team that values technical excellence, collaboration, and creative problem solving.
As a key member of the project delivery team, you will translate client requirements into robust engineering solutions, manage cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure projects meet safety, quality, schedule, and budget targets.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end engineering for solar, wind, and storage projects, from feasibility through commissioning.
- Coordinate with utilities, EPCs, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to secure permits and interconnection agreements.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and change control processes.
- Perform electrical design, interconnection studies, load flow analysis, and energy production modeling using tools such as PVSyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, and MATLAB.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Lead site visits, due diligence, commissioning tests, and performance verification.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to business development through technical proposals and client engagements.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/renewable energy engineering; Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years in renewable energy project engineering, with solar and/or wind and storage experience.
- Strong knowledge of grid interconnection, permitting, PPA structures, and EPC management.
- Proficiency with design and analysis tools: AutoCAD, Helioscope, PVSyst, Homer Energy, DIgSILENT, MATLAB, ETAP.
- Project management experience; PMP or equivalent Certification is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% for site visits and commissioning.
