NovaGen Biologics is seeking a Senior Research Biologist to join our expanding molecular biology team in Cambridge, MA. This role focuses on planning and executing experiments that advance our portfolio in gene editing and cellular therapeutics. You will work cross-functionally with scientists, engineers, and clinical development to translate research into scalable processes.
In this role, you will be empowered to design experiments, troubleshoot assays, interpret data, and contribute to manuscript preparation and regulatory documentation. We value curiosity, collaboration, and meticulous attention to detail to ensure safety and reproducibility across all lab activities.
Responsibility
- Lead experimental design for molecular biology projects, including gene editing, cloning, and cell-based assays.
- Develop, optimize, and validate assays with robust controls and documentation.
- Analyze and interpret complex datasets, and present findings to cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with protein scientists, engineers, and clinical development to translate research to scalable processes.
- Draft SOPs, protocols, and contribute to regulatory submissions and manuscripts.
- Mentor junior scientists and ensure compliance with lab safety and GLP standards.
Qualification
- MS or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on laboratory experience in mammalian cell culture and molecular assays.
- Proficiency with CRISPR/Cas9, PCR/qPCR, sequencing, and data analysis tools (R, Python).
- Strong problem-solving, experimental design, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work cross-functionally.
- Experience with SOPs, GMP/GLP environments, and regulatory documentation is a plus.
