Job description

Global Energy Partners is seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer to join our Houston-based team. You will lead reservoir modelling, performance forecasting, and field development planning for onshore and offshore assets. This is a high-impact role that blends technical rigor with cross-functional collaboration to maximize value while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

In this position you will partner with geoscientists, drilling, and production teams to design development strategies, build robust reservoir models, and monitor performance against plans. You will leverage state-of-the-art tools and data analytics to deliver actionable insights and reliable forecasts.

Responsibility

  • Lead reservoir performance analysis, history matching, and dynamic simulation studies to support development decisions.
  • Develop and optimize field development plans, supporting reserves estimation and production forecasts.
  • Design and manage reservoir modeling projects using Eclipse, CMG, and related tools.
  • Collaborate with drilling, completions, geoscience, and operations to drive integrated asset strategies.
  • Mentor junior engineers, review work products, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Capture and manage data quality, perform PVT and fluid property analyses, and ensure model integrity.
  • Monitor performance against plans, perform risk analysis, and recommend contingency actions.
  • Support regulatory filings, health, safety, and environmental compliance as required.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of reservoir engineering experience in oil and gas projects.
  • Proficiency with reservoir simulation software (Eclipse, CMG) and data analytics tools.
  • Strong understanding of PVT, fluid properties, material balance, and decline curve analysis.
  • Experience with production forecasting and field development planning.
  • Programming/scripting (Python, SQL) for data processing and automation.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills; ability to influence at multi-disciplinary levels.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
