Job description
TerraCore Energy Partners is seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer to join our Houston-based upstream team. This role leads reservoir characterization, optimization strategies, and production forecasting for a fossil energy portfolio. You will collaborate with geoscientists, drilling, facilities, and operations to maximize value while maintaining safety and environmental standards. This position offers leadership growth, advanced simulation work, and meaningful impact on energy supply.
As a key member of the asset team, you will leverage state of the art tools and data-driven insights to optimize field development and production performance across onshore and offshore assets.
Responsibility
- Lead reservoir engineering studies to evaluate development options and optimize field performance using dynamic models.
- Develop and maintain calibrated reservoir simulations (CMG, Eclipse) and production forecasts for multi-year planning.
- Collaborate with geology, drilling, facilities, and production teams to design robust field development plans and well architectures.
- Perform economic evaluations (NPV, IRR, CAPEX/OPEX) and risk assessments to support investment decisions.
- Analyze production data, identify optimization opportunities, and implement EOR strategies as appropriate.
- Ensure adherence to HSE, regulatory, and company standards across all activities.
- Mentor junior engineers, present findings to senior management, and contribute to cross-functional project teams.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of reservoir engineering experience in oil and gas projects, with onshore and offshore exposure.
- Proficiency with reservoir simulation tools such as CMG and Eclipse; strong understanding of nodal analysis and material balance methods.
- Experience with production forecasting, decline curve analysis, and economic evaluation (NPV, IRR).
- Strong data analytics skills; programming experience in Python or SQL is a plus.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and environmental stewardship.
