Job description
We are seeking a results-driven Senior Reservoir Engineer to join our Fossil Energy division in Houston, TX. You will lead reservoir characterization, development planning, and production optimization for mature oil and gas assets. This role combines technical depth with strategic decision making, cross-functional collaboration, and a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will translate geological insights into actionable development plans, optimize production, and contribute to long-term value creation. You will also mentor junior engineers, influence CAPEX decisions, and uphold high standards of HSE and regulatory compliance.
Responsibility
- Lead reservoir characterization, modeling, and development planning for assigned oil and gas assets.
- Build reliable production forecasts, reserves estimates, and decline curve analyses.
- Evaluate new development opportunities, optimization projects, and candidate field expansions.
- Perform techno-economic analyses, risk assessments, and economic justifications for CAPEX and OPEX.
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure adherence to API, NORSOK, and company standards; drive QHSE practices.
- Collaborate with geoscience, facilities, and drilling teams to drive integrated field development.
- Support regulatory reporting and ESG data collection as required.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering; MS preferred.
- 8+ years of reservoir engineering experience in upstream oil & gas.
- Proficiency with reservoir simulation tools (Eclipse, Nexus, PETREL) and data analytics.
- Strong forecasting, reserves estimation, economic evaluation, and risk assessment skills.
- Knowledge of API standards and SPE guidelines; commitment to HSE.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration; proven leadership abilities.
- Willing to travel as required (up to 25%).
