Job description
Join a leading fossil energy company as a Senior Reservoir Engineer in Houston. In this role, you will design and optimize subsurface development plans, lead reservoir simulations, and collaborate across geoscience, drilling, and production teams to maximize value from conventional oil and gas assets.
We value strategic thinking, rigorous data analysis, and a proactive approach to HSE and compliance. You will influence field development plans, evaluate EOR opportunities, and mentor engineering staff in a fast paced energy environment.
Responsibility
- Lead reservoir engineering activities including dynamic modeling, history matching, and production forecasting to drive asset development decisions.
- Evaluate and optimize enhanced oil recovery (EOR) strategies and artificial lift design in collaboration with geoscience and facilities teams.
- Build robust economic models, perform reserves estimation, and support project approvals and budgeting.
- Manage data integrity for production, pressure, and seismic data; implement scalable analytics to improve reservoir performance.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, review technical work, and uphold HSE standards across operations.
- Present actionable technical recommendations to senior leadership and cross functional stakeholders.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field; MS/PE license preferred.
- 7+ years of reservoir engineering experience in fossil energy, with track record of successful field development and EOR projects.
- Strong proficiency with reservoir simulation tools (Eclipse, CMG, or similar) and data analytics platforms; scripting in Python or SQL is a plus.
- Experience with asset economics, reserves reporting, and regulatory compliance (SPE PRMS, SEC reserves).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills; ability to influence stakeholders and lead cross functional teams.
- Willingness to travel to field sites as needed and adhere to safety and environmental policies.
