Join GlobalSea Logistics Ltd as the Senior Shipping Operations Manager. This leadership role oversees ocean and air freight operations, carrier partnerships, and regulatory compliance for a fast-growing regional portfolio.
In this role you will lead a multidisciplinary team, optimize end-to-end shipping cycles, and drive cost efficiencies while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Key responsibilities and opportunities include working with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to achieve on-time delivery, accurate documentation, and superior service levels.
Responsibility
- Lead and mentor a regional shipping operations team, setting KPIs and driving continuous improvement.
- Plan and coordinate ocean and air freight shipments, routing, and capacity planning to meet service levels.
- Negotiate rates and terms with carriers, freight forwards, and service providers to optimize total landed cost.
- Ensure end-to-end documentation accuracy, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
- Manage import/export compliance, regulatory requirements, and risk management across multiple jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with sales, warehousing, and IT to optimize end-to-end supply chain processes and customer experience.
- Monitor performance metrics, implement process improvements, and report to senior leadership.
- Lead project initiatives such as system integrations, automation, and data analytics to enhance efficiency.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field; master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 7-10 years in shipping/logistics with progressive leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, Incoterms, HS codes, and customs clearance.
- Proven track record negotiating with carriers and achieving cost savings.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and TMS/WMS; data-driven decision making.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multilingual environment and manage cross-functional teams across time zones.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CHA, CILT, CIPS) a plus.
