As a key member of our surveying team, you will manage field crews, plan surveys, QA/QC field data, and produce high-quality plan sets and digital deliverables. This role blends fieldwork with advanced data processing in Civil 3D and GIS environments.

Responsibility

  • Lead and supervise survey field crews on boundary, topographic, construction staking, and control network projects.
  • Plan survey methodologies, establish control, collect field notes, and ensure data accuracy and QA/QC.
  • Process field data using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble or Leica solutions, and GIS tools to create precise mapping and deliverables.
  • Prepare survey plats, construction plans, plats, and legal descriptions in coordination with project teams.
  • Maintain client relationships, provide timely progress updates, and manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and company QA procedures.
  • Mentor junior staff; lead training on field methods and software workflows.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or related field; OR equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of land surveying experience with progressive responsibilities; PLS license in CO or ability to obtain licensure within 12-24 months.
  • Proficiency with total stations, GNSS receivers, field data collection software, and data processing tools (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Leica FlexNet).
  • Strong mathematical, geometric, and analytical skills; detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience with field safety, project coordination, and client communication; valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites within the region and occasional night or weekend work as needed.
