Job description
Atlas Geomatics Solutions is seeking a results-driven Senior Surveyor to lead field operations and geospatial projects in the Seattle region. This full-time role blends traditional land surveying with modern GIS workflows to deliver precise datasets for civil, transportation, and commercial developments.
As a key member of our surveying team, you will oversee field crews, ensure QA/QC of data, and collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to translate complex requirements into accurate measurements and maps.
What you’ll do
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise field survey activities using total stations, GNSS receivers, and scanning equipment.
- Calculate, adjust, and document survey measurements to produce robust control networks and boundary determinations.
- Prepare precise topographic, plat, and as-built surveys for civil and infrastructure projects.
- Ensure QA/QC of field data and deliverables; maintain metadata and coordinate systems per project standards.
- Lead and mentor junior survey crew members; ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with engineers and GIS specialists to integrate survey data into CAD and GIS platforms (AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS).
- Support project managers with cost estimates, scheduling, and client communication.

Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent field experience.
- Professional Surveyor license or ability to obtain in Washington state.
- 5+ years of field surveying experience with modern equipment (Total Station, GNSS, laser scanners).
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS software, and data management best practices.
- Solid knowledge of boundary laws, parcel mapping, datum systems, and QA/QC procedures.
- Excellent communication, project management, and safety mindset.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and travel within the region as needed.
