TerraNova Geospatial is seeking a Senior Surveyor to join our growing Denver, CO team. This role blends field operations, data processing, and client collaboration to deliver precise surveying solutions for a diverse range of projects.
As a key member of our surveying group, you will utilize GNSS, total stations, and advanced field-to-finish workflows to capture, compute, and deliver survey data with the highest accuracy. We offer competitive compensation, a collaborative culture, and clear paths for career progression.
Responsibility
- Perform precise field surveys using GNSS, total stations, levels, and other survey instruments to establish accurate control networks.
- Prepare field notes, sketches, data sheets, and routine computations; verify data quality and integrity.
- Conduct boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and utility mapping as required.
- Interpret plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements; coordinate with project teams and clients to define scope and deliverables.
- Review and QA/QC survey data, deliverables, plats, and maps using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and GIS tools.
- Supervise field crews, schedule field operations, and ensure safety protocols and equipment maintenance.
- Assist in project budgeting, proposal development, and client communication; contribute to business development efforts.
- Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and technology to improve field and office workflows.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of professional land surveying experience on commercial/residential or public sector projects.
- Proficiency with GNSS receivers, total stations, RTK, data collectors, and field-to-finish workflows.
- Strong knowledge of boundary law, easements, mapping, and local/regional surveying standards.
- Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D; GIS software and data analysis skills.
- Valid Professional Surveyor (PLS) license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership abilities; capable of coordinating with clients and teams.
- Physically capable of fieldwork, travel to project sites, and occasional overtime as needed.
