As a Senior Surveyor, you will apply your field and office expertise to deliver accurate boundary, topographic, and control surveys while mentoring junior team members and coordinating with engineers, designers, and project managers.
Responsibility
- Lead and perform boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys using GNSS and Total Station equipment.
- Prepare accurate survey plans, legal descriptions, plats, and as-built drawings for client deliverables.
- Manage field crews, schedule activities, and ensure data quality through rigorous QA/QC procedures.
- Establish and densify control networks, monitor deformation, and conduct monitoring surveys as needed.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to integrate survey data into design and construction workflows.
- Mentor and supervise junior survey technicians, providing training on instrumentation, procedures, and safety.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, local standards, and permitting requirements throughout projects.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field; professional registration (P.Geo) is preferred
- Minimum 5 years of professional surveying experience in civil infrastructure, land development, or construction projects
- Proficiency with GNSS, Total Station, field data collection, and survey data processing software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Trimble Business Center)
- Strong knowledge of BC surveying regulations, standards, and safety requirements
- Excellent analytical, report writing, and communication skills; ability to prepare clear field notes and deliverables
- Experience leading field crews, coordinating schedules, and mentoring junior staff
- Valid BC driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
