Responsibility
- Lead day-to-day transportation operations across highway, rail, and intermodal modes to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Develop and monitor KPI dashboards (OTD, cost per mile, fuel efficiency, carrier performance) to drive continuous improvement.
- Negotiate and manage carrier contracts, rate cards, and vendor relationships to optimize service and cost.
- Oversee routing optimization, load planning, and dispatch in collaboration with the warehouse and planning teams.
- Implement and optimize TMS and ERP integrations to streamline workflows and visibility.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, safety programs, and risk management across all modes of transport.
- Coach, develop, and empower a high-performing operations team; manage change in a fast-paced environment.
- Partner with sales and customer success to proactively resolve exceptions and elevate customer satisfaction.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field.
- 7+ years of transportation or logistics operations experience with multi-modal exposure.
- Proven track record leading large, cross-functional teams and projects.
- Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in TMS, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), and advanced Excel.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and relationship-building capabilities.
- Deep knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with a bias for action.
