Responsibility
- Lead transportation planning projects from scoping to delivery, including travel demand models and corridor studies.
- Develop multimodal networks, complete streets concepts, and transit-oriented development strategies.
- Analyze data from GIS, travel surveys, and traffic models to inform recommendations.
- Coordinate with municipal agencies, consultants, and stakeholders to define project goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Prepare grant applications, reporting, and presentations for city councils and funding bodies.
- Mentor junior planners and ensure quality control across deliverables.
- Monitor project performance, KPIs, and post-implementation outcomes to refine plans.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and accessibility standards.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 8+ years of transportation planning experience, including multimodal networks and GIS analysis.
- Proficiency with travel demand models, GIS (ArcGIS), Python/SQL for data manipulation, and transportation data sources.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with grant writing, budgeting, and project management.
- Knowledge of California transportation policy, regulations, and environmental review processes (CEQA/NEPA).
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work with cross-functional teams, and meet deadlines under pressure.
