BrightPath Mobility Group is seeking a Senior Transportation Planner to join our dynamic team in Los Angeles. This role focuses on designing and delivering multimodal transportation solutions that improve mobility, safety, and sustainability for communities and clients.
In this position, you will lead complex planning studies, develop data-driven strategies, and collaborate with public agencies, transit operators, developers, and community stakeholders. You will guide project teams from concept through implementation and contribute to business development through compelling proposals.
Responsibility
- Lead and manage transportation planning studies, including traffic operations, mode shift, and corridor analysis.
- Develop multimodal strategies that optimize roads, transit, cycling, pedestrians, and freight with measurable performance metrics.
- Coordinate with city agencies, clients, and stakeholders; present findings and recommendations with clarity.
- Develop work plans, schedules, budgets, and staffing; mentor junior planners on technical and professional development.
- Prepare technical memos, grant applications, and proposals; support procurement and client engagement.
- Create GIS-based analyses, dashboards, and data visualizations to inform decisions and communicate results.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in urban planning, civil engineering, transportation engineering or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in transportation planning or related field.
- Proficiency in GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS) and transportation modeling tools (VISSIM, EMME, Aimsun) or open-source equivalents.
- Strong analytical abilities with experience in travel demand modeling, data analysis, and scenario evaluation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to present to clients and public agencies; stakeholder engagement experience.
- Project management experience with the ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects, timelines, and budgets.
- Professional licensure such as PE, AICP, or equivalent is preferred or current pursuit of licensure.
