At Lumina Design Studio, we craft human-centered digital experiences for fintech, healthtech, and consumer apps. We are seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to join our design team in San Francisco, with flexible remote options for the right candidate.
You will lead the design of complex products, drive design systems, mentor junior designers, and collaborate with product, research, and engineering to ship delightful, accessible interfaces.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end UI/UX design across the product lifecycle from discovery to delivery.
- Collaborate with product managers, researchers, and engineers to translate user insights into elegant interfaces.
- Design and maintain scalable design systems, component libraries, and style guides.
- Create user flows, wireframes, hi-fi mockups, and interactive prototypes to communicate design concepts.
- Conduct user research and usability testing; synthesize findings into actionable recommendations.
- Ensure accessibility and inclusive design across products (WCAG AA where applicable).
- Mentor and review work of junior designers; participate in design critiques and stakeholder feedback.
- Partner with engineers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation and accessible, performant UI.
Qualification
- 5+ years of UI/UX design experience with a strong portfolio across web and mobile.
- Expertise in Figma, Sketch or XD; proficient in prototyping tools.
- Strong visual design skills and a solid understanding of information architecture and interaction design.
- Experience building and maintaining design systems; practical knowledge of accessibility standards.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills; comfortable presenting to cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with front-end basics (HTML/CSS/JS) is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and translating data into design decisions.
