Join AquaNova Global as a Senior WASH Programme Manager in Nairobi. You will lead strategic planning, program design, and field implementation to advance access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene across communities. This role blends technical expertise with strong leadership, donor relations, and cross-sector collaboration.
As a key member of our WASH team, you will guide multi-year projects, ensure compliance with donor and local regulations, and foster community ownership and sustainability. Ideal for seasoned professionals with a passion for scalable impact.
Responsibility
- Lead design, planning, and execution of comprehensive WASH programs aligned with donors' strategies and local needs.
- Manage program budgets, procurement, and partner contracts to maximize impact and ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with government agencies, NGOs, and community groups to ensure alignment and sustainability.
- Oversee Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (M&E) to track outcomes, learn, and adapt interventions.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements, reporting standards, and local regulatory frameworks.
- Build and mentor a high-performing WASH team; drive capacity-building and knowledge sharing.
- Lead risk management, quality assurance, and safety across all field operations.
- Contribute to fundraising, proposal development, and grant management for continued program growth.
Qualification
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in WASH program management, preferably with donor-funded projects.
- Proven expertise in water supply, sanitation, hygiene promotion, and WASH in nutrition-sensitive settings.
- Strong project management skills and experience with M&E frameworks, results-based reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
- Budgeting, procurement, and contract management experience; knowledge of donor compliance (e.g., USAID, DFID, EC).
- Excellent written and verbal communication, grant proposal writing, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, travel to field sites, and work with diverse partners and communities.
