BlueHorizon Water & Sanitation Ltd is seeking a proactive Senior Water & Sanitation Engineer to lead WASH projects across urban and rural communities. The successful candidate will oversee design, implementation, and monitoring of water supply, sanitation, and hygiene initiatives, ensuring quality, safety, and sustainability.
In this role you will collaborate with local authorities, NGOs, and community groups to deliver reliable water services and improved sanitation facilities. You will manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and risk, while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibility
- Lead end to end design and implementation of water supply and sanitation schemes, including intake, treatment, distribution, and wastewater components.
- Oversee feasibility studies, hydraulic modeling, and pipeline design; ensure compliance with local standards and environmental requirements.
- Coordinate with government agencies, communities, and partners to plan, execute, and monitor WASH projects.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, work plans, and procurement strategies; monitor progress and manage risks.
- Lead field surveys, data collection, and reporting; analyze performance indicators to drive improvements.
- Ensure quality control, safety, and sustainability across all stages of project life cycle.
- Mentor junior engineers and support staff; promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
Qualification
- Bachelor or higher degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; Master's preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in WASH projects, including water supply and sanitation facilities.
- Professional registration or eligibility for registration (PE/EIT) is preferred.
- Strong project management skills with proven track record of delivering on time and within budget.
- Proficiency in water hydraulics, modeling tools, GIS, AutoCAD, and data analysis software.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report writing abilities; experience with community engagement is a plus.
- Knowledge of local WASH regulations, standards, and environmental impact assessment processes in Kenya.
- Willingness to travel to field sites and work in low-resource settings as required.
