We are seeking a seasoned WASH Engineer who can lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage complex projects, and ensure technical excellence from design through commissioning. This position is based in Lagos with opportunities to travel to field sites across Nigeria.
Responsibility
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of water supply, wastewater, and sanitation projects in urban and rural settings.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including civil, hydraulic, environmental, GIS, and procurement to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Oversee field investigations, data collection, hydraulic modeling, and design reviews to support robust solutions.
- Ensure compliance with national standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
- Develop technical specifications, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for project bidding and execution.
- Lead stakeholder engagement with government agencies, communities, and partners to secure buy-in and ensure sustainable operations.
- Monitor project performance, prepare progress reports, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers and field technicians to build local capacity.
Qualification
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in WASH project design and implementation, preferably in Nigeria or similar markets.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling, GIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related software.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian water and sanitation standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated project management skills with ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage budgets.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report writing skills.
- WASH sector experience in both urban and rural settings; willingness to travel to field sites.
- Professional accreditation (e.g., COREN, NSE) is a plus.
