Join AquaNova International as a Senior WASH Project Manager in Lagos, Nigeria. You will lead high-impact water and sanitation initiatives that improve health, resilience, and dignity for communities across urban and rural settings.
This is a strategic, hands-on role for a results-driven professional who thrives in collaborative environments with donors, government agencies, and community partners. You will design, implement, and monitor projects that deliver sustainable WASH outcomes aligned with national policies and donor standards.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end WASH project delivery from initiation through closeout, ensuring quality, timeliness, and value for money.
- Develop and manage project charters, work plans, budgets, procurement plans, and M&E frameworks aligned with donor requirements.
- Direct cross-functional teams of engineers, field technicians, and community facilitators; promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee procurement, contract management, and subcontractor performance; monitor spend against budget and forecast.
- Foster strong relationships with government authorities, NGOs, and community leaders to ensure effective coordination and accountability.
- Implement robust M&E systems, track indicators, produce timely progress reports, and distill learnings for scaling impact.
- Ensure safeguarding, gender equity, and environmental compliance across all activities.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, water resources, environmental health, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- 7+ years of WASH project management experience, including donor-funded programs.
- Proven track record in coordinating multi-stakeholder projects and working with government agencies.
- Strong M&E experience, data analysis, and reporting skills; proficiency in MS Office and data tools.
- Excellent written and spoken communication; ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Project management certification (PMP, Prince2) or equivalent; familiarity with risk management and procurement processes.
- Fluent in English; local language proficiency in Yoruba or Igbo beneficial.
- Ability and willingness to travel to field sites as required.
