BlueHorizon Water & Sanitation Ltd. is seeking a Senior Water and Sanitation Engineer to join our growing team in Nairobi. This role offers an opportunity to lead high-impact water supply and sanitation projects that improve community health and resilience in urban and peri-urban areas.
As a technical and strategic leader, you will design, supervise, and oversee delivery of projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring quality, value, and sustainable outcomes. You will collaborate with clients, government agencies, contractors, and communities to deliver clean water access and safe sanitation solutions.

Responsibility
- Lead the planning design and delivery of water supply, wastewater and sanitation projects from concept to commissioning.
- Develop technical specifications, oversee field surveys hydrological modeling hydraulics design and GIS mapping.
- Manage project budgets schedules risk registers QA QC processes and reporting.
- Coordinate with government agencies communities contractors and partners to ensure compliance and stakeholder buy-in.
- Monitor performance develop operation and maintenance plans and provide training to local staff.
- Ensure adherence to Kenyan standards WASH guidelines and environmental and social safeguards.
- Prepare progress reports and support grant proposals to secure funding.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in Civil Environmental Engineering or related field; Master preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in water supply sanitation and sewer networks in public or private sectors.
- Professional engineer registration or equivalent; eligible to practice in Kenya or region
- Strong design and analytical skills with proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D GIS (QGIS).
- Experience with project management budgeting and stakeholder engagement.
- Solid knowledge of Kenyan WASH standards environmental regulations and EH&S guidelines.
- Excellent communication leadership and report writing abilities with a collaborative mindset.
