Job description
Join a leading global WASH organization as a Senior Water and Sanitation Engineer in Nairobi. You will lead the design, delivery, and monitoring of water supply and sanitation projects that improve access to safe water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene practices in diverse communities.

Responsibility
- Lead the design and implementation of water supply and sanitation interventions from concept to handover.
- Develop technical specifications, conduct feasibility studies, and ensure compliance with national and donor standards.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and procurement; track progress against targets.
- Coordinate with government agencies, NGOs, communities, and contractors to ensure effective delivery and risk mitigation.
- Lead monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Ensure quality, safety, and environmental stewardship across projects.
- Prepare progress reports and support capacity building of local teams.
- Promote sustainability and climate resilience in WASH interventions.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field; master's preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in WASH project design and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of water supply systems, sanitation technologies, and hygiene promotion.
- Experience with MEL frameworks, data analysis, and reporting; proficiency in GIS is a plus.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Project management certification (PMP or equivalent) is a plus.
- Ability to work in cross-cultural environments and travel as needed.
- Fluency in English; Kiswahili is a plus.
