Join AquaNova, a leading innovator in water supply and sanitation solutions in Lagos. We are seeking a Senior Water & Sanitation Engineer to drive end-to-end WASH projects, from feasibility to commissioning. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with field delivery, stakeholder coordination, and a passion for improving community access to safe water and sanitation.
In this role, you will lead multi-disciplinary teams, ensure compliance with local standards, manage budgets, and contribute to program design and knowledge sharing that scales impact across communities.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end WASH project design and delivery, including water supply, sanitation facilities, and wastewater management.
- Develop technical designs, bill of quantities, specifications, and oversee procurement and contractor management.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, risk plans, and implement quality assurance processes.
- Coordinate with local authorities, communities, and partners to ensure compliance with standards and sustainable operation.
- Conduct site assessments, data collection, hydraulic modeling, and GIS mapping to inform decisions.
- Plan and oversee operation and maintenance, asset management, and smooth handover to clients.
- Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and knowledge sharing to scale impact across programs.
- Mentor junior engineers and support capacity building within the team.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related WASH field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in WASH projects, with demonstrated ability to deliver water supply and sanitation facilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, hydraulic modeling (EPANET, WaterCAD), and GIS (ArcGIS).
- Familiarity with local Nigerian standards and best practices for water and sanitation projects.
- Project management certification (PMP) or equivalent; strong budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication, report writing, and cross-cultural collaboration abilities.
- Willingness to travel to field sites and hold/possess a valid driver's license.
