Join AquaNova Global, a leading water and sanitation solutions provider delivering essential WASH programs across urban and rural communities. We are seeking a seasoned Water & Sanitation Engineer to design, implement, and monitor high impact water supply and sanitation interventions.
As part of our multidisciplinary team, you’ll work with municipalities, NGOs, and communities to improve access to safe water, hygienic sanitation, and sustainable infrastructure.
This role blends technical excellence with stakeholder collaboration, donor reporting, and capacity building to ensure sustainable impact and ownership.
Responsibility
- Lead end to end design, engineering, and commissioning of water supply and sanitation projects from concept to operation.
- Conduct feasibility studies, hydraulic modeling, water quality testing, and environmental impact assessments.
- Develop detailed designs, drawings, bills of quantities and technical specifications.
- Manage procurement, contractor oversight, and on site supervision to ensure quality, safety and budget compliance.
- Monitor project performance indicators, prepare progress and donor reports, and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
- Collaborate with government authorities, communities, and partners to ensure community engagement and ownership.
- Ensure operation and maintenance planning, training local staff, and smooth project handover to utilities or communities.
- Incorporate climate resilience and sustainability considerations into all design and implementation activities.
Qualification
- Bachelor or Master degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in WASH, water supply, sanitation, or urban water utilities.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling tools (EPANET, SWMM) and GIS software (ArcGIS/QGIS).
- Strong project management skills and experience with donor-funded programs ( World Bank, UNICEF, USAID, etc.).
- Knowledge of local design standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report writing abilities.
- Professional licensure or certification (PE or equivalent) preferred.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
