Join AquaNova International as a Senior Water & Sanitation Engineer, leading innovative projects that deliver safe drinking water and sustainable sanitation solutions to communities in Nairobi and beyond. You will design, implement, and oversee WASH infrastructure in collaboration with governments, NGOs, and private sector partners. Responsibility
- Lead planning, design, and delivery of water supply, wastewater, and sanitation systems in line with local codes and international standards.
- Develop technical designs and hydraulic models, perform risk assessments, and ensure resilience to climate variability.
- Coordinate with government agencies, utility operators, and community stakeholders for approvals and social licensing.
- Prepare project plans, budgets, and schedules; monitor progress and report to stakeholders.
- Oversee construction supervision, quality control, and safety compliance on worksites.
- Lead operations and maintenance planning, water quality monitoring, and treatment optimization.
- Support grant and donor reporting; ensure compliance with procurement and financial controls.
- Build capacity through training and knowledge transfer to local engineers and technicians.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 7 years hands-on experience in WASH project delivery.
- Professional registration (eg, PE or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of WASH standards, hydraulic modeling (EPANET, WaterGEMS), and GIS tools.
- Experience with large-scale water supply and sanitation projects in low- and middle-income settings.
- Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and complex budgets.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report writing skills.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
