Responsibility

  • Lead planning, design, and delivery of water supply, wastewater, and sanitation systems in line with local codes and international standards.
  • Develop technical designs and hydraulic models, perform risk assessments, and ensure resilience to climate variability.
  • Coordinate with government agencies, utility operators, and community stakeholders for approvals and social licensing.
  • Prepare project plans, budgets, and schedules; monitor progress and report to stakeholders.
  • Oversee construction supervision, quality control, and safety compliance on worksites.
  • Lead operations and maintenance planning, water quality monitoring, and treatment optimization.
  • Support grant and donor reporting; ensure compliance with procurement and financial controls.
  • Build capacity through training and knowledge transfer to local engineers and technicians.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years hands-on experience in WASH project delivery.
  • Professional registration (eg, PE or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of WASH standards, hydraulic modeling (EPANET, WaterGEMS), and GIS tools.
  • Experience with large-scale water supply and sanitation projects in low- and middle-income settings.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and complex budgets.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report writing skills.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
