Join AquaPulse International as a Senior Water & Sanitation Engineer and lead transformative WASH projects in Nairobi, Kenya. This role blends advanced technical design with program management to deliver safe drinking water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene improvements for urban and rural communities.
You will collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and community partners to design, implement, and monitor resilient water supply systems, ensuring quality, safety, and sustainability across all phases of the project lifecycle.
Responsibility
- Lead the design, planning, and implementation of water supply and sanitation projects from feasibility to commissioning.
- Conduct hydraulic modeling, water quality assessment, and risk analysis to ensure robust system performance.
- Prepare technical drawings, Bills of Quantities, tender documentation, and review contractor designs for compliance with standards.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, procurement, and field execution while maintaining safety and quality benchmarks.
- Engage with communities and stakeholders; support capacity building and gender-inclusive initiatives.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on project outcomes; communicate progress to donors and partners.
- Ensure compliance with national and international WASH standards and contribute to operation and maintenance planning.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; Master's preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in water supply, sanitation, or WASH programs.
- Proficiency with hydraulic modeling tools (EPANET, SWMM) and GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS).
- Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D; ability to produce design drawings and BoQ documentation.
- Strong project management, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Knowledge of Kenya WASH standards and donor-funded programs; fluency in English.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities; willing to travel within program area.
