We are seeking a results-driven Shipping Operations Lead to orchestrate end-to-end logistics for international shipments, optimize routes, and lead a cross-functional team in Singapore.
In this role you will collaborate with carriers, customers, and warehouse partners to ensure on-time delivery, accurate documentation, and superior service while maintaining regulatory compliance and cost controls.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end shipping operations for global customers, ensuring on-time delivery and service quality.
- Own carrier selection, rate negotiation, and contract compliance to optimize freight spend.
- Coordinate import/export processes, documentation (B/L, CO, commercial invoices), and customs clearance with speed and accuracy.
- Develop and monitor KPIs (OTIF, transit times, detention/demurrage), and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with warehousing, IT, and sales to align on inventory, order-to-cash, and customer expectations.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, trade compliance, and risk mitigation; manage exception handling and claims.
- Implement and optimize route planning, consolidation, and use of TMS/SAP for real-time visibility.
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to logistics coordinators and support staff.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or related field; 3-5 years in shipping/logistics.
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, and international freight forwarding.
- Experience with ERP/TMS/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle or similar).
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills; data-driven decision making.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; strong communication skills.
- Project management experience; ability to lead initiatives and drive change.
- Relevant certifications (CILT, CSCP, or equivalent) preferred.
