Join GlobalBridge Logistics as a Shipping Operations Manager in Houston. This role leads end to end shipping activities for domestic and international freight, ensuring on time delivery, compliance, and cost optimization. You will partner with carriers, 3PLs and internal teams to drive operational excellence.
We seek a results oriented professional who can think strategically and execute tactically, keeping safety, quality and service at the forefront of every shipment.
Responsibility
- Oversee daily shipping operations, coordinating outbound and inbound freight across ocean, air and ground networks.
- Plan and optimize routes, load plans, and carrier selection to minimize transit times and cost.
- Manage carrier relationships, rate negotiations, contract compliance, and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with import export regulations, customs documentation, and trade compliance.
- Collaborate with warehousing, inventory and IT teams to optimize order fulfillment and visibility.
- Lead process improvements, KPI tracking and root cause analysis of delays or errors.
- Mentor and coach logistics coordinators, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field; MBA preferred.
- 5+ years in shipping/logistics operations with international freight experience.
- Proven proficiency with ERP/WMS systems such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite, or similar and TMS tools.
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, import export documentation, and trade compliance.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel and data driven decision making.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
