Responsibility
- Oversee daily shipping operations for domestic and international lanes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and cost efficiency.
- Design and implement carrier strategies, negotiate rates, and manage vendor performance against KPIs.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with warehouses, customs brokers, and 3PLs to optimize routing, documentation, and exception handling.
- Monitor and analyze shipping metrics (OTIF, transit times, freight spend) and drive continuous improvements.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, duties/taxes, and trade controls; maintain accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with sales, procurement, and finance to forecast demand, budget shipping costs, and optimize cash flow.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing logistics team, promoting safety and best practices.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field; MBA a plus.
- 5+ years of shipping/logistics operations experience in a fast-paced environment; international exposure preferred.
- Proven track record negotiating freight rates and managing carrier relationships.
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, and import/export compliance.
- Data-driven with proficiency in Excel; experience with TMS/WMS and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and excel in a deadline-driven environment.
