NovaSea Logistics is seeking a results-driven Shipping Operations Manager to lead APAC logistics, carrier management, and customs compliance. This role blends strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced global shipping environment.
In this role, you will drive end-to-end logistics operations, optimize transportation costs, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with commercial and operations teams to deliver exceptional service to customers.
Key attributes include analytical thinking, vendor relationship management, and a proactive, customer-centric approach.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end APAC shipping operations, including inbound/outbound freight, import/export, and last-mile coordination.
- Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and 3PLs; monitor performance against SLAs and cost targets.
- Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, and Warehousing to ensure on-time delivery and optimal inventory availability.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, documentation (B/L, customs declarations, incoterms), and trade controls.
- Develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce lead times and costs.
- Manage a team of coordinators; provide coaching, training, and performance management.
- Forecast transportation requirements, budget planning, and capacity management across the APAC region.
- Collaborate with IT and operations to optimize TMS/WMS usage and digital workflows.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of shipping operations experience, with preference for APAC exposure in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, trade compliance, and documentation.
- Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and/or ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and relationship-building abilities.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement operational improvements.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills in a cross-functional environment.
