We are a fast-growing provider of end-to-end logistics services seeking a Shipping Operations Manager to lead a high-performance team in Singapore. You will drive excellence in on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and carrier engagement across multiple trade lanes.
As a Shipping Operations Manager, you will collaborate with commercial, warehouse, IT, and finance partners to optimize SEA and global shipments, implement scalable processes, and ensure impeccable compliance with international trade regulations.
Responsibility
- Lead daily shipping operations across sea and air modes to ensure on-time delivery and high service levels.
- Strategize and optimize carrier relationships, rates, and contract compliance to reduce total landed costs.
- Develop and monitor KPIs for freight spend, transit times, and operational performance.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, INCOTERMS usage, customs clearance, and supplier due-diligence across lanes.
- Manage cross-functional teams (warehouse, IT, finance) and drive vendor performance improvements.
- Implement process improvements leveraging ERP/TMS/WMS systems and data analytics.
- Lead root-cause analysis for exceptions, drive corrective actions, and sustain continuous improvement.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field; MBA or MSc preferred.
- 5+ years in shipping/logistics operations with global freight experience.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and cost-control skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), TMS, and WMS; data-driven mindset.
- Solid knowledge of INCOTERMS, customs regulations, and trade compliance.
- Proven leadership, collaboration, and communication skills in a matrix organization.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
