Join HarborLink Logistics as a Shipping Operations Specialist and play a pivotal role in orchestrating global freight, ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with international trade standards. This role blends strategic routing, carrier relations, and meticulous documentation to support a seamless supply chain.
As part of our global shipping team, you'll partner with customers, sales, warehousing, and carriers to optimize routes, manage costs, and drive customer satisfaction.
Responsibility
- Oversee end-to-end shipping operations across international carriers, ensuring on-time delivery and cost efficiency.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation (bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, ISF filings, and certificates).
- Coordinate with carriers, port authorities, freight forwarders, and inland partners to schedule pickups and releases.
- Optimize routing, carrier selection, and load planning using data analytics to reduce transit times and costs.
- Ensure compliance with trade regulations, Incoterms, classification, and customs procedures for all shipments.
- Collaborate with sales, warehouse, and customer service to align shipment plans with customer expectations.
- Monitor KPIs, generate regular performance reports, and lead process improvements to raise service levels.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of shipping/logistics operations experience, with international freight exposure preferred.
- Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems and freight forwarder portals; strong Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of Incoterms, customs regulations, documentation requirements, and trade compliance.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management abilities.
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with meticulous attention to detail.
