Join a premier road construction company delivering critical infrastructure across the greater Houston area. We are seeking a seasoned Site Engineer to oversee field operations, ensure quality, maintain safety standards, and drive on-time project delivery from site mobilization through final paving.
As a Site Engineer, you will collaborate with project managers, survey teams, and subcontractors to uphold design integrity, manage resources, and ensure compliance with local regulations and industry best practices. This role offers growth opportunities within a dynamic, safety-first organization.
Responsibility
- Oversee daily field operations on road construction projects, including earthworks, drainage, base preparation, and paving activities.
- Enforce quality control procedures and verify workmanship against design specifications and standards.
- Coordinate with survey teams to set precise lines, grades, and stakes; monitor alignment and elevations.
- Manage subcontractors, material deliveries, equipment, and crews to maintain project schedules.
- Prepare and maintain daily progress reports, quantities, and variances; support timely change orders and documentation.
- Implement and enforce safety programs, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure OSHA compliance on site.
- Collaborate with project managers and QA/QC teams to test materials and verify conformance with specs.
- Assist in commissioning, close-out activities, and documentation for project handover.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent field experience).
- 3+ years of hands-on road construction field experience.
- Strong knowledge of earthworks, base preparation, asphalt paving, drainage, and concrete operations.
- Proficiency with field software and surveying tools; familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.
- OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification; proven commitment to a safe work environment.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities; ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
