Job description
Join Micron Semiconductors in Singapore as a Staff Engineer focused on process development for thin film deposition and diffusion in NAND memory devices. This is a hands-on, leadership-driven role that blends advanced materials science with scalable manufacturing expertise. You will own the end-to-end development of CVD and diffusion processes, drive improvements in film quality, uniformity, and reliability, and collaborate across multiple teams to deliver high-volume manufacturing readiness. You will be at the forefront of cutting-edge memory technology, shaping processes that enable higher yields, tighter device control, and longer product life cycles. If you are a results-oriented engineer who thrives in a fast-paced cleanroom environment and excels at cross-functional collaboration, this is the opportunity for you.
As a Staff Engineer, you will partner with Process Development, Equipment, and Yield teams to ideate, design, and execute experiments that optimize deposition parameters, diffusion profiles, and film properties. You will translate lab-scale insights into scalable manufacturing processes, drive DOE studies, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision making. Your work will support the NAND technology roadmap and contribute to product reliability, device performance, and production efficiency. We value curious problem-solvers who communicate clearly, mentor junior engineers, and uphold the highest standards for safety, quality, and process control in a world-class semiconductor facility in Singapore.
In this role you will access state-of-the-art CVD and diffusion equipment and collaborate with a global team to push the boundaries of memory technology. You will tailor process controls, perform rigorous qualification, and contribute to cost-effective manufacturing initiatives that maintain Micron's leadership in NAND technology. Micron Singapore is committed to career growth, continuous learning, and a diverse, inclusive workplace that fosters innovation.
We are looking for leaders who thrive on challenges, demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, and communicate results with clarity to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. If you are ready to influence the next generation of memory devices and join a company with a strong global footprint, apply today.
Responsibility
- Lead the development and optimization of thin film deposition processes (CVD) and diffusion steps for NAND devices from concept to high-volume manufacturing.
- Design and execute DOE experiments to tune film properties, deposition rate, uniformity, and defect density, and analyze results to drive decisive improvements.
- Collaborate with Process Integration, Equipment Engineering, and Yield teams to transfer processes into manufacturing lines and ensure robust process control.
- Establish and maintain statistical process control, data analytics, and loginable documentation to monitor performance and drive reliable yields.
- Scale laboratory breakthroughs to pilot lines, qualify equipment, and validate processes for production readiness.
- Evaluate new materials, chemistries, and process steps, balancing performance, cost, and manufacturability.
- Prepare clear technical documentation, SOPs, and training materials; mentor and coach junior engineers and technicians.
Qualification
- Bachelorβs degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of semiconductor process development experience with thin film deposition and diffusion, preferably in NAND or memory technologies.
- Strong background in CVD process engineering and diffusion thermodynamics, with hands-on lab and fab exposure.
- Proven ability to design and analyze experiments (DOE, SPC) and to translate data into concrete process improvements.
- Experience with cleanroom practices, equipment qualification, risk assessment, and safety compliance.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Python, MATLAB, JMP, or similar) and lab instrumentation for materials characterization.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills; comfortable working with cross-functional teams across regions.
- Willingness to relocate to or work in Singapore and to travel as needed.
